Producer / Electro House Dj

Ntandazo Vuyile Mtshengu, stage name CranX was born in a small town called Kokstad in Kwazulu-Natal South Africa in 1995, but his parents moved to Matatiele in the Eastern Cape in 1997.

He is an Electro House producer and Dj. He currently studies music at the University of the Witwatersrand. He was only 3 years old when he started playing the piano. His father taught him a basic melody of the South African National Anthem and he caught on quite quickly and in just a few months, he could follow the melody of almost any song that he heard.

He started his primary school life at St Monica’s in Matatiele. In 2006 he went to King Edward High School, where his music passion grew stronger and he started producing and writing his own songs since, which were mostly Hip Hop and RnB at the time. In 2010 he went to Durban High School and while he was there, he got involved in quite a few concerts and productions. He heard Electro Music for the first time in 2013, when a friend of his played him a song called Language by Porter Robinson. Since then he fell in love with the genre and he’s been producing Electro House mixed with a South African House feel and a bit of RnB and Hip Hop to it.
